Joyetech Espion Solo & ProCore Air 10th Anniversary Limited Edition.

Coming soon worldwide!

I’ve been looking forward to using this marvel for weeks, and here it is!

There are already some very good reviews on Joyetech Social with all the details about the technology and the specifications, so I’ll concentrate on my user experience.

The Solo exceeded my expectations, I was anticipating something special and it certainly is that. I am used to Joyetech’s quality builds and materials but I was surprised at the fluid way the elements of this mod and tank have come together- it just oozes class and quality. From the colour coordinated tank and mod to the excellent filling system and touchscreen, it just works - aesthetically and practically.

I couldn’t wait to set it up!

I installed a 21700 battery (surely the way to go with it’s increased power and capacity) via the magnetic side door, attached the tank to the well machined 510 fitting, set the time and date using the very smooth and intuitive touch controls (note that after setting the time and date you must swipe away from that screen to confirm the settings - that’s not in the manual!) I was ready to fill with my favourite Double Menthol, yes I live dangerously 眨眼

I love the flip filling system on my Aries tank, but the new system on the ProCore Air tank is even better. A simple push slides away the top and the drip tip to reveal a single slot on the top of the tank, so easy to fill! It’s secure too, it hasn’t leaked in my pocket or bag.

Filling completed, I was keen to give it a try…   I don’t like masses of clouds, nor a hot feel to the vape; it was easy using the touchscreen to adjust the Watts setting to experiment, the screen locks when you press the fire button so you cannot accidentally change the setting in operation. I usually settle for somewhere between 18-30 Watts, the supplied ProCA (0.4ohm) coil is really powerful and was instantly producing a very flavoursome vaping experience even with my low power settings. Incidentally I have been using the first coil heavily for some days now and there has been no degradation in performance nor any gumming up of the coil or cotton.

The engraved metal fire button is huge and very positive in operation, there must be a high quality microswitch behind there, typical of the Joyetech focus on quality.

Exploring the menus with easy swipes revealed plenty of information about puff total, battery percentage as well as the temperature control, preheat and so on. I use a lot of complex menu based control systems in my profession and I have to say that Joyetech have created a simple and intuitive interface here, that’s not easy to do. It’s a bright and sharp screen too but not overly so, easily visible when outside where my Primo Mini is a little dim.

By accident I discovered that with the Solo turned off, holding down the fire button displays a useful clock and date display, nice touch!

It’s a seriously good mod, with an excellent tank and coil combination, so much so that it has become my “go-to” vape, my beloved Primo Mini is now on the shelf looking at me…. If I had to find a “Con” or two - they would be that the onscreen display of amps and puff time after a fire is just a shade too short. It would also be good to have the option of using a 24 hour clock. As the firmware is easily user upgradeable maybe such changes could be made in the future.

Overall - I love it! Get one before they sell out folks.
